On the morning of December 7th, 2019, twenty-four NHS members partook in helping the elderly with chores around their house. The beautiful sunny Saturday was the perfect day for community service. We worked through a program offered by Interfaith Ministries called Chore Corps. We split up into two groups with each group working at two houses for an hour each. There we worked on household chores such as rearranging bedding, cleaning the kitchen, and cleaning bathrooms. The yard work involved raking leaves, trimming overgrown vines, and tidying up the yard. We also did our best to interact with the elderly and put a smile on their face. We all had fun working together to tackle the chores and help the elders as much as we could. It was rewarding to see the difference we had made and to see the elders being so grateful for our work.
