Proud parents, teachers and staff witnessed the induction of the largest number of new members, now totaling our NHS membership to 41 students! It takes a lot of dedication to become a member of NHS and these students have proven that they have the qualities of an NHS member - academic performance, leadership, service and character.

Proud parents, teachers and staff witnessed the induction of the largest number of new members, now totaling our NHS membership to 41 students! It takes a lot of dedication to become a member of NHS and these students have proven that they have the qualities of an NHS member - academic performance, leadership, service and character.
The induction ceremony was led by our president, Andrew Gross, who started off the ceremony with an introductory speech, which was then followed by Ms. Harrison’s welcome speech. Next at the podium was our head of school, Ms. Joyce, who also gave an opening statement, followed by NHS’s historian, Sierra Leo, who spoke about the history of the NHS program and more specifically about Post Oak’s NHS chapter. In the second phase of the ceremony, the executive committee members, comprising of our vice president, Carly Gregg, our secretary, Izzie Bair, our treasurer, Francesco Argentina, and our historian, Sierra Leo, delivered speeches on the four pillars of NHS- scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Following each speech, a candle was lit for the corresponding pillar. Finally, our new inductees recited the NHS pledge and then were individually called up to receive their tokens of membership: an NHS pin and certificate. After all the new members were inducted, Andrew Gross concluded the ceremony with a brief closing statement and everyone was then invited to enjoy the refreshments and offer their congratulations to the newest members of NHS! Below are some pictures from the ceremony!
